During the dinner meeting Innovations on April 12 at Hotel Thermen Bussloo, members of the IFFI network learned about innovative developments in vegetable proteins. Jaap Korteweg, founder of De Vegetarische Slager, ‘World’s first vegetarian butcher’, joined the dinner meeting. Korteweg shared his vision on meat replacers and how the growing demand will change the future of food production and consumption.
On Friday, April 13, IFFI colleagues visited new IFFI member Ruitenberg Ingredients. CEO Ward van der Kaaij and his team shared the corporate story including Ruitenberg BasIQs, active in liquorice extracts. The presentation was followed by a guided tour through the state-of-the-art technology center where new concepts are being developed.
