Food ingredient producers are constantly challenged to meet the growing demand for plant proteins. Therefore we invite IFFI members to exchange technical challenges and possible solutions. We combine this workshop with a company visit to our member Griffith Foods in Herentals, Belgium.

Target Group

Managing directors, Innovation/R&D managers, marketing managers, business development and consumer insight managers, product development specialists, process and application technologists, regulatory and food safety specialists and other colleagues from IFFI members who are interested in plan based food applications.

Topic

The demand for innovative food ingredients in vegetarian and vegan food applications is growing fast. The pressure is on! IFFI members have expressed a clear interest in discussing the technological limits of the food processing industry when it comes to the use of plant proteins. At the same time Griffith Foods is looking forward to explore possibilities of sensory evaluation with other IFFI members, introducing ‘Landscaping’ as an instrument.

Willem Cranenbroek has worked for more then 12 years at Vion Foods in different roles. He is an expert in the meat industry. Only 5 months ago Willem agreed to lead Vion’s future meat analogues business ME-AT and to build a business and factory from scratch in 12 months time. A real challenge for both Vion Foods as well as Willem, addressing all aspects of sourcing ingredients, innovating meat alternatives, producing under different conditions, marketing a new category and distributing diverse quantities.

Registration and accommodation

The IFFI dinner meeting programme includes dinner and drinks and excludes eventual accommodation costs. Participation costs for IFFI colleagues are covered by the membership fee. However, for cancellation of participation or accommodation after the 1st of April we will charge you € 150,–.

IFFI can arrange a hotel room including breakfast for you.
