Executive Council meeting 6 January 2015

Our first Executive Council meeting in 2015 is scheduled for 6 January. We look forward to welcome all executive members at De Nederlanden in Vreeland aan de Vecht.

After a short presentation of the meeting programme scheduled for 2015, attendants can enjoy a three-course dinner of the hand of Chef Wilco Berends. Afterwards Joep van Wessem, Managing Director at Buisman Ingredients, will introduce Tom Beltman of Marktlink. Tom has been involved in the transfer of shares at Buisman and will review the impact of shareholders on the basis of various business cases.

Topic: Transforming a company – shareholders strategies

Listed companies like Philips (lighting systems), Unilever (spreads) and also DSM have to respond to the wishes of anonymous shareholders, sometimes selling the ‘backbone’ of their businesses. On the contrary, the business of privately owned companies can be dominated and therefore restricted by a single or a few shareholders.

Chef Wilco Berends was brought up in Barsingerhorn in North-Holland; his love for this region is reflected in his cuisine: Volendam eel, Opperdoezer Ronde and Niedorper hare. The menu is modern and global-oriented, based on the classic French cuisine and influenced by seasonal products.
