Dinner meeting Operations, 24 September 2015

Our last inspirational IFFI dinner meeting in 2015 is scheduled for 24 September. We look forward to welcome all members, former members and invitees who are interested in sourcing strategies; ‘Make, buy or ally – that’s the question!’.

Prior to the dinner meeting IFFI members and their colleagues are welcome to join a company visit to our new IFFI member, the Huijbregts Groep.

Operations topic: Make, buy or ally – that’s the question!

More and more food (ingredients) manufacturers see collaboration in the supply chain or specific networks as the solution to deal with rapid changes in the global food market. By defining and delimiting your value-based position in the food chain, you can increase flexibility in production, get faster access to specialist knowledge and take advantage of co-innovation opportunities. A thoughtful sourcing strategy is essential: what do you make, buy or create in alliance? How do you choose your partners and under what conditions will you collaborate?

Guest Speaker

Art vanTienhovenArt van Tienhoven, COO at Van Geloven, will answer the above mentioned questions and many more from his broad experience in in- and outsourcing.

After his start at Ahold, Art pursued his career at various multinationals in food (ingredients) and pharma, being involved in plant, supply chain and operations management at f.i. Nestle, Van Melle, Maitre Paul, General Mills and CSM.
As COO of Van Geloven/MORA, the snack specialist for over fifty years, Art is closely involved in sourcing strategies, using the expertise of f.e. the Huijbregts Groep for mixing, portioning and packaging.
